Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) board had held a meeting with authority of Secretariat which cleared preparation of a Master plan for the Secunderabad Cantonment Area. The chief minister/chairman of HMDA board has suggested Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to accelerate the ongoing project under its jurisdiction.The ongoing projects include radial roads, Educational hub, habitat centre, science city along with some land pooling scheme etc. which needs to be completed as early as possible. HMDA covers about 7257 square kilometers of area which include about 42 square kilometers of Secunderabad Cantonment area.The authority which administers the Secunderabad Cantonment area had requested HMDA to prepare a master plan for the development of the cantonment area.HMDA meeting also sanctioned the Metropolitan Development Plan-2031 which included development plan for Hyderabad Metropolitan Region (HMR). The board also approved the Authority initiated land pooling scheme which includes pilot projects at Edulanagulapally-Kollur and Pratapsingaram-Gowrelli. The meeting also gave the nod to the intelligent Transport System plan for HMR along with approval for the Hyderabad Habitat center.The authority wants to complete all its projects according to the master plan 2031 and it is trying hard to create better social and physical infrastructure in the HMR. HMDA officials are intending to re-introduce Green Channel Concept which would allow builders and developers to get building permissions within seven working days. The authority will most probably introduce this concept in various phases.
