HUDA Commenced Survey to Track Green Covers in the City

gurgaon-green-coverGurgaon: The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has commenced a survey seeking information about the green covered land in areas under the HUDA jurisdiction. The exact status of green covers will help HUDA to formulate a comprehensive green policy for such green covered areas and it will further enable HUDA to track possible encroachments on greenbelts which are earmarked by the authority.HUDA has also assigned private contractors which will plant new trees on all road dividers in Gurgaon. The survey reports have given encouraging results related to the residential parks in the city. These residential parks are maintained by local RWAs which are funded by the HUDA. RWA works to make it sure that plant cover in these residential parks is well maintained. HUDA authority said that it is necessary that we should maintain a good platform of green cover so that development and green cover ratio is maintained in the city. HUDA officials said that green plants are necessary on the dividers and it needs proper work for such green covers.Increasing developments in the city are cutting down a huge array of trees and green covers due to repairs and construction works, and to stop such decay of green covers HUDA has decided to take actions once they complete the survey of all the green covers.HUDA officials said that the survey will help civic body to record density of green cover in every sector of the city and under the same survey HUDA will mark trees which need to be removed in various areas of the city.
