Gurgaon: The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) ordered officials to clear the greenbelts from encroachments in the residential and commercial areas of the city. HUDA held a meeting in the last week where administrator Praveen Kumar announced the decision in this regard. HUDA will start a drive against the violators encroaching green belts.The meeting discussed details of encroachers along with the detailed plan for clearing green belts. If required the authority will take the help of police for the registration of cases against the violators. Green belts used for commercial purposes will be the biggest concern of the civic agency as they are the big violators in the area.Green belts are mostly used for commercial purposes and especially on the both sides Golf Course Road used cars are parked which are for sale for all day long. HUDA had already taken the action against such violators and if the authority finds these cars parked in the green belt region they would be immediately seized by the HUDA.The civic agency has registered FIRs against green belt violators in various sectors of the city. Few violators against whom the FIRs are registered include a dhaba owner, resale car shop and a plant nursery owner.HUDA has planned to include corporate offices and companies in the green belt drive by insisting them to adopt green belt in their premises.
