Corporation may Earmark 1.71 Lakh sq mtr Land for Residential Developments

pune-developmentPune: The Planning Committee appointed by the state government suggested that the 1.71 lakh square meter land in Pimpri Chinchwad should be earmarked as a residential zone. The land which needs to be earmarked as a residential zone was reserved for 13 civic amenities according to the draft development plan of Tathawade village in Pimpri Chinchwad region.Committee having six state-appointed members had held a citizen’s hearing on the draft plan, and the report of this hearing was submitted to the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation stating that the reserved land must be allotted for residential developments in the village. The proposed reserved land included large part of 90000 square meter land allotted for the retail market. Other reserved land which was suggested to earmark as residential land included plots which was earlier reserved for schools, playgrounds, garden, libraries and many other social purposes.The four major reservations amongst the 13 allotted reservations must be shifted to nearby other reservations. The committee also recommended canceling the four roads going through different localities according to the draft development plan.The municipal corporation merged Tathawade village within PCMC limits, after which civic body decided to create a development plan for the village. After the publishing the development plan for the village, suggestions and objections were invited from citizens, which received a response of numerous suggestions and objections from citizens.Six member town planning committee was appointed by the government to look in to these suggestions and objections.
