Pimpri and Chinchwad are two towns in the Pune district located to the North-West of Pune City, governed by Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). Both Pimpri and Chinchwad are well connected by road via old Pune-Mumbai Highway. Pimpri-Chinchwad area are Chinchwad, Pimpri, Nigdi, Nigdi Pradhikaran, Tathawade, Talwade, Akurdi, Bhosari, Ajmera Colony, Sambhaji nagar, Nehru nagar, Sangvi, Hinjewadi, Aundh Annex, Wakad.Pimpri-Chinchwad Industrial area is considered as the biggest industrial center in Asia.  InfrastructureFire Station: A plot for a fire station has already been allocated to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Muncipal Corporation. At present the fire station facilities are jointly provided by MIDC as well as the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. Truck Terminus and Bus Stop: A spacious parking area can be used as a truck terminus for parking transport vehicles, so as to avoid traffic congestion. A total of 6 plots with an area of 80,000 sq m have been allotted to different agencies to develop the truck terminus. The truck terminus has been provided with basic utilities for drivers, cleaners, truck operator etc. Common Facility Centre: MIDC has allotted plots for a bank, canteen, hospital, and post office, etc. to facilitate industrial staff and workers. All the activities are in operation Parks: Many gardens lush green lawns, play park cafeteria, tracks, etc have been developed with the help of PCMC. These gardens are landmarks and of great attraction to families in the area. Electricity: Two sub-stations, one of 220 KV at Chinchwad and a 400 KV at Bhosari meet the power supply needs of the area. The sub-stations provide good quality uninterrupted power supply. Water: MIDC has constructed water supply Scheme at Ravet and Chinchwad to provide 144 MLD of water to the area, sourced by river Pawana. The areas total water supply pipe line network is 150 km Roads: The area is connected internally by good quality multiple lane roads. The width of the main road is 61 m and width of the internal road is 24.5 m. The total length of the asphalted roads is 80.13 km Connectivity: Dedicated electronic exchanges are functional at Chinchwad and Bhosari Residential Facilities: A 128-hectare residential and commercial area has been developed by MIDC within the area.
