Construction of flats according to vaastu is not easy but if the developer follows meticulously the principles of vaastu in selection of plot and construction of building the results can be satisfactory in majority of cases.Here are the principles that should be strictly followed to give maximum benefits to flat owner.

• The land or plot should be square or rectangle if possible with south west corner equal to 90 degree,
• Ground levels should be sloping towards north-east, and the levels in south west, should be higher than all other sides.
• An open well or bore well should be dug in the north east before the construction.
• At the time of designing the complex more open space should be left in the east and north compared to south and west.
• Balconies should be in east, north and north east are advisable.
• Kitchen should be in south-east or north-west and never in north-east.
• Staircase should be in south, west or south west. North east should be avoided.
• Main entrance can be east, north, north east, west and North West.
• Cellar should be kept under the northern or eastern portion of the complex but not in southern or western side.
• North east cellar should be used for parking of vehicles but not for heavy trucks.
• Open area in north south should be used for lawns, bore wells and sumps while north east open area should be for on-off parking.
• A builder or a developer must take into consideration these principles while constructing complexes so as to provide maximum positive benefits to the consumer.
