It is one of its kind and the second largest in Aerospace Museum in the country open for public. This museum is located at the Airport Road in Bangaluru. Spread over astounding ten acres of land this aviation museum was started by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited in the year 2001. This museum is conveniently located just eight kilometres away from M.G. Road. By establishing this spectacular museum HAL has given a new height to the tourist attractions in Bangaluru city. Bangaluru city is now also called the city of Aeronautics because of this rare museum. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited was established on October 1, 1964 after the merger of Hindustan Aircrafts Limited, Aeronautics India Limited and Aircraft Manufacturing Depot, Kanpur. It has done a wonderful job since its inception and this progression is displayed very well in the museum. The magnificent collection of aircrafts, rare photographs, flight simulator and ATC Tower are quite interesting to explore in the museum. Loads of knowledge you can gain from this museum about the history of Aviation technology growth in India since nineteen forty. The history and the achievements are systematically displayed via photographs in order of time and gradual growth. There is an audio visual show displayed at the lounge in order to let you know the outstanding contribution of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited in the journey of Aerospace Programmes of India. The most exciting thing to do in the museum is to fly an aircraft. Isn’t it? Actually it is a simulator flight and you do not need to have a pilot licence to fly this aircraft but the experience is the same as you are inside an actual aircraft and trying your hands on one. On the roof top you can see the actual view of landing and taking off of aircrafts from the mock up ATC tower. From here you can also get the view of surroundings including the runway. If you will visit this centre once you would love to come again and again as you get to indulge in totally different experience here.
