Mumbai: Timings of the stamp duty and Registration offices across the city have been made flexible for the benefit of the Citizens. Registration and Stamp Duty offices will be working two shifts as compared to the previous rigid timings of 10am to 5.30pm. The first shift will be operational from 7am to 2pm whereas the second shift will be operational from 2pm to 9pm. The implementation of shifts will resolve the issue of time constraint which leads to overcrowding in front of the registration offices. Citizens can now choose their preferred timings amongst the slots specified for taking up property related transactions. Government will also be establishing few more Stamp Duty and Registration offices in the suburbs of Mumbai in order to ease the burden of the existing offices. Working professionals can heave a sigh of relief with the new shift system since now they can complete their transactions at the registration offices much faster than before without compromising on their daily schedule.
