Calicut is regarded to be the 3rd largest city of the State of Kerala. This city is located on the Malabar Coast of Southern India. This city is also called as the ‘City of spices’ since once it used to be central trading point for spices. The Calicut International Airport has frequent flights connecting Domestic and International destinations as well.Plans to lay down a monorail are under the pipeline. The DMRC is the authority in-charge which will be signaling off the commencement of the project. The total cost estimate for the first phase of this project is around Rs.1700 crore. As of now this phase of the monorail will be touching the Meenchanda area of Kozhikode.All these factors have contributed tremendously to the real estate development of Calicut.
