The Development plan also considers construction of several bridges, flyovers and bypass along with development of subways at various locations of the city.The halted BRTS system will be restarted with proper planning and expansion of corridors to reach various important location of the city. The development plan also considers the development of light rail transport system (LRTS), mono rails etc. The Pune municipal corporation also plans to create cycle tracks, parking facilities, safe pedestrian facilities, underground walkways, skywalk considering the future needs of the city. Development of National highwayPune has brought closer to the financial capital of the country through a vital development of Mumbai-Pune Expressway which has worked as a catalyst in the Pune’s commercial growth. The development plan of Pune also concentrates on the expansion of the Pune Solapur corridor which is the part of the NH-9. Highway is currently a 2-lane but the expansion planes states that it will be expanded to 4-lane highway. The development will be done by the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) formed by TRIL Roads Pvt. Ltd and Autostrade Indian Infrastructure Development private limited. It will also develop the bypass situated in Maharashtra of a length 110 Km. These projects will be developed with partnership of oriental Structural Engineers Private Limited and IJM India Infrastructure limited.Development within the cityThe Pune Development plans also include various infrastructure developments; the civic authority has proposed three important tunnels in the city areas which will connect PuLA Deshapande Udyan, Sinhagad Rd. to Tulshibaugwale Colony, Panchawati to GOkhale Nagar Mafco and Panchwati Pashan to Sutardara Kothrud. Bridges and underground tunnels will reduce the congestion of traffic on main city areas. The city administration has already started working on the six-lane Metro system which is in its planning phase after the approval from the government.
