Practical methods to manage waste in your society or apartment:
- Start from yourself and do take responsibility of at least the waste that is produced in your household.
- Segregation of waste at source makes things easier in waste management process. Keep dry and wet garbage separate.
- It is a good idea if you can make compost of kitchen waste like vegetable peels, food waste, tea and coffee leftover, garden leaves etc. this compost can help to make the soil fertile and provide nutrients to your apartment garden.
- One most important step is to avoid plastic bags from super markets as much as you can. Do remember to take your carry bag with you.
- Always prefer products with less packaging or cardboard packaging instead of plastic packs.
Give instruction to your house maid to segregate the dry and wet garbage.Follow the three R’s- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
