It is basically a botanical park where you can see shrubs, trees and flowering plants like marigold, bougainvillea etc. The illuminated musical fountain is the centre of attraction of this garden. Mysore Zoo (Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens):This 245 acre zoo is a home of various and rare species of flora and fauna. You can spot some unusual species of animals like Kangaroo, Chimpanzee, Emu, Giraffe, Nilgiri Langur, Ring Tailed Lumur, Mouse Deer and many others. The place is also encircled with some rare variety of trees and plants. Not only birds and animals, the zoo also homes an aquarium. It is good place for recreation as well as from educational aspect. Karanji Lake:This pristine lake is located behind Mysore Zoo and is spread over 90 acres of land. You will find wide variety for butterflies, little mammals and birds like pelicans, wild fowls, wild hens etc. Karanji Lake also has boating facilities for visitors. There is a high observation tower from where you can enjoy the view of the green landscapes.
St. Philomena’s Church:This is an ancient church which is over 200 years old. The church showcases Gothic Style architecture and has paintings that portray the birth of Jesus, last supper, crucifixion. The twin spires of the Cathedral are the main attraction of this church. It is 175 feet tall spires. The church looks marvelous when it gets illuminated during evening.
