Just 44 kilometres away from Bangaluru in a verdant setting this place gives you an opportunity to indulge in nature. Away from the hustle and bustle of city it is also known as Pearl Valley. Famous for its magnificent waterfall this valley of pearl can surely make your day. This place is in its full youth during and post monsoon as during this time you can see green all around with few remarkable waterfalls among which one is 300 feet high. Small water reservoir makes the perfect location for family picnic.One can enjoy here by getting wet in the waterfall or into the small water pond down the valley, camping with friends, sitting quietly and listening the chirp of birds or enjoy the serene greenery all around. If you want to stay here then can check the nearby Traveller’s bungalow which is situated six kilometres from Anekal Town on Hosur Road. You are required to contact the block development officer in order to make reservations here. After reaching the Pearl Valley you need to park the car at a specified place and then go down the valley using around 120 steps downwards. There is an old temple near the stream in the valley as it is not possible in India to find a place without a temple. The main deity in the temple is Lord Shiva. The temple is well maintained and puja is done every morning.What to look for?Lots of greenery, splendid nature all around, waterfalls cascading down to valley, temple of lord Shiva, water reservoir, water activitiesBest time to visitAny natural setting needs good rains to be turned into a perfect spot to enjoy. Pearl Valley is also a valley full of trees, woody pathways, rocks and waterfalls. But the best of the views come out of it when rain washes the valley thoroughly. Thus the best time to visit the place is after the first spell of rain that is after June till October.Things to be careful about:Watch for the monkeys as they are here in quite good numbers and thus it is advised not to carry any food items, packets or soft drink bottles with you while going down the valley. Beware of drunken people who can create problem to you or your family. Do not carry valuables with you. Be careful in rainy season as the rocky path down the valley gets very slippery and can result in injuries. It is advised you to wear shoes or proper sandals in order to climb rocky steps comfortably and safely.Facilities:Well maintained toilets are there.Food availability:There is a small restaurant here but not very good. It is better to carry your water bottle and snacks with you for hygiene reasons but do not eat in open as monkeys can be around.Days to avoid:Usually on Sundays this place is overly crowded and thus you cannot enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of the valley.
