Musical Fountain in Bangaluru – Visual Delight With Unimaginable Features

The garden city of Bangaluru is an IT hub and it is not possible being an IT hub it does not use technology in its sprawling gardens. Yes I mean to say that the city authorities has used the technology to create a spectacular musical fountain in one of its Gardens in order to make it a tourist attraction and I must say that they are quite successful in their effort to attract good crowd. I am talking about the Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain which is located at the heart of the city on the Raj Bhavan Road in the old L.R.D.E. area of Bangaluru city. The closest landmark is Jawaharlal   Nehru Planetarium which is situated just opposite to the Musical Fountain. The total area of the premises is around seventeen acres. This dancing and musical fountain was a part of beautifying project of government and was specially made to order in the year 1996.   The landscaping around the fountain does enhance the grandeur of the fountain. It is maintained by the Department of Horticulture under Government of Karnataka.  Gardens are also developed into impressive landscaping to add the beauty to the fountain.The fountain is an exclusive one and result of modern technology. It was made by B N A Technology Consulting Ltd, Hong Cong with very advanced technology that is rare to see anywhere else in the country.  The creators used multimedia technology, industry standard MIDI interfaces, hardware architecture, etc. in short the musical fountain has the following systems in it:

  • Unique binary control concept for three distinct levels
  • A hydraulic system for dancing movements
  • Advanced pumping system for recycling water
  • Modular grid design for easy expansion in future
  • Advanced Controller electronics

When the fountain is accompanied by light and sound it is unimaginably spectacular sight. There are around hundred lights are used to give that magnificent look to the dancing fountain. It has 1000 nozzles that make 15 formations and 27 different combinations to enthral the audience. The various shapes you are formed by the musical fountains are as under:
