Mumbai was at 36th position last year, but according to the global survey conducted this year it have climbed up to 16th place out of 80 top luxurious residential areas in the world.According to a report, along with other international cities, even Mumbai residential market saw a rise in price last year. There was an average increment of 0.5 % in the premium housing properties of Mumbai. As compared to other global cities, Mumbai has witnessed an optimistic expansion in the residential market which has led to rise in the property rate. The report also adds that if you invest $1 million in Mumbai property, you can get an 88 sq m luxurious space whereas with the same amount you can be able to buy 169 sq m space in Dubai, 172 sq m in Cape Town.Most of the prime properties in this financial capital city are located in the Southern parts like Malabar Hills, Colaba, Cuffe Parade etc. Most of the investors for luxurious homes are local high- income individuals. There are expectations of annual growth of 2 to 3 percent in the property prices of Mumbai. Bulks of enquiries are coming for high-end residences but the actual property deal is in a steady situation.According to the report, Monaco is the most expensive city in terms of luxurious residential spaces and is followed by Hong Kong, London, Geneva and Paris.
