I would like to marry my lover in this month. I am from Hindu community and my lover is christian.i have some doubts regarding this.My parents are against this marriage , so i thought of doing register marriage. may i know what i need to do in this case. whether i need to marry in a temple or church before registration? or shall i simply register in a register office? I have an RC Book (Karnataka) whether it is a valid local id proof? But she don’t have any local(Bangalore) address proof . Whether rental agreement can be considered as a local address proof? if yes i can take a room in her name( i supposed to rent out 1BHK house).otherwise , whether mobile bill (vodafone) is considered as a local proof ? otherwise Bank statements ? ( if any of this is okay , i can arrage one as soon as possible .If i register like whether it is valid ?. We both are from Kerala and we have Kerala id proofs with us. I am afraid to register in Kerala ( her mother is a document writer and so they will find out the notice easily and they can do something to block ) .
Kindly give an advice as soon as possible.

Dear Sajeesh,
These are proper address proof:
• Ration Card having name of the Groom.
• Election Identity Card.
• The Copy of Electricity Bill received on name of Groom
• The Copy of Telephone (Only BSNL) Bill received on name of Groom
• Driving License having Date of Birth and Address
• Company Letter Head, Rent Agreement or Bank Passbook (any 2 documents)
However you can marry in Karnataka only if both of you had been staying in the state for at least 6 months.
The registration will be valid. You do not have to marry in a temple or a church.
