Interior of the building:Being a civil building, Manchester Civil Justice Centre, apart from office and support spaces has 47 courtrooms and 75 consultation rooms. The working spaces are articulated as long rectilinear forms at each floor level. The building exhibits a magnificent blend of light and shade, intensity and complexity. The building has glass façade that expresses transparency. The structure offers splendid 11 floor atrium and 60 m by 60 m glass façade on the western edge. The court rooms are usually intimidating and threatening with the justice point of view but the fantastic set-up in this justice center is absolutely comfortable and soothing. The accommodation area is approximately of 34,000 sq m.Sustainability has been a major factor that has been taken into consideration while designing the project. Natural ventilation is provided to all areas, right from west to east front elevation. The building utilizes water source heat pump to provide heating and cooling around the building. There is not much need of electric lighting due to the natural light that infuses most areas of the building. The structure is constructed according to the BREEAM excellent rating.Location:Allied London Properties, the developer of this project explicitly chose Spinningfields as an ideal location for development of Manchester Civil Justice Centre.
