I know the perfect place that can be an appropriate setting to take away your tiredness. The Lumbini Park in Hyderabad has it all not only for you your whole family. This beautiful park is situated near the famous Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad. As the name suggests the name of the Park is given Lumbini because it is believed that the Lord Buddha was born here.Actually it was the time centuries ago and that is why no one knows the actual story but this park has got its name from the birth place of Gautama Buddha. There is a huge impressive statue of Lord Buddha situated just few yards away from the Park. The Lumbini Park was created in the year 1994 under the Buddha Poornima Project by HUDA (Hyderabad Urban Development Authority) WITH A COST OF Rs. 2.35 crore. Since its inception this place has become one of the most important relaxation spot for local people as well as visitors from outside Hyderabad. If you see the location of the park then can imagine why it attracts good number of crowd as it is ideally located quite in the centre of city with important landmarks around like graceful Birla Mandir, Hussain Sagar Lake, State Secretariat, Necklace Road, etc. It was one of the targets on 25th August 2007 bombings in Hyderabad.When you enter this magnificent park you are welcomed by a huge entrance gate with the name Lumbini Park HUDA in a circle. As you enter the park on the left side you can see a beautiful huge flower clock on a slope. This flower clock is created with big dials and colourful flowering plants. The park is spread over an area of 7.5 acres but at the time of its inception it had only 5 acres of land but later on 2.5 acres is added to create a huge auditorium for conducting laser show. This addition is done by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation.This is a huge auditorium having a seating capacity of 2000 people at a time. Here shows on Hyderabad’s history are organised. The Park is decorated with beautiful seasonal flower plants, cacti and rocky features. Kids love this place and parents feel relaxed seeing the smiling faces of their kids.The musical fountain and the water cascade are other attractions with a big hit among the visitors in the park. Everyday musical fountain shows are conducted by the authorities in the park. The fountains dance over the popular songs of Hindi and Telugu films. It is a pleasure to watch the dancing fountains in rhythm. During summer season there are three shows conducted keeping in mind the pool of crowd.
