In today’s scenario it is difficult to find a single residential society that does not have a swimming pool as it has become a necessity. All upcoming residential projects are having pool facility to attract buyers as everyone wants to have a home in a society that has a swimming pool. Pools do add that luxury to your homes and are the perfect place to enjoy, exercise and refresh. Kids’ pool is also quite common near swimming pools. Small kids just love to play in them.  Having a pool and enjoying it is not all, we do need to maintain it regularly to ensure its proper functioning.  Maintain pool is quite significant in order to protect swimmers and users from diseases along with increasing the life of pool for long term use. Here are some important tips that can help in smooth functioning of swimming pool   for a long time. First of all we need to follow some rules if we want to keep our pool neat and clean. These rules include:1. Always take shower before entering the pool. It is very basic thing to follow.2. Wear swimming costumes before getting into the pool.3. One should not throw any kind of garbage in or near pool side.4. Everyone should remove foot wears before getting into the pool whether swimming or just sitting on the side of pool.5. Small kids should be taken to washroom in small intervals to prevent urinating in the pool.6. One should wash his or her hands after changing baby diapers. Special pool diapers (water proof) should be used for babies to prevent leaking.7. Jumping in the pool from heights should be prohibited as it may result in injuries.8. Playing in the pool should also be restricted as the corners of pool may be dangerous as the pool sizes are a bit smaller in most of the societies.9. One should not spit, vomit or blow nose in or near pool. If feeling like one then should rush to washroom immediately.10. Sick & coughing persons should not use the pool as it is a common sense.11. Anyone with contagious skin disease should not use the pool in order to prevent its spread among other users.12. The rules and regulations must be written on a notice board near pool so that people can follow them13. Adults should always accompany and supervise small kids to prevent accidents.14. First aid arrangements must be there near the pool for use in emergency situations.15. Emergency numbers should be written on the notice board to take immediate actions.16. Educate people of society about the safety measures and emergency actions on the pool like Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), techniques to rescue others, etc.17. Water quality must be checked time to time in order to prevent diseases and maintain the hygiene level in the pool.18. A professionally qualified pool operator must be appointed by the society who can take the responsibility of cleaning the pool, water and various treatment required on a regular basis. The chemical balance of pool water should be maintained as in excess of chemicals the water can have side effects on users’ skin and eyes.  The Ph level must be 7.2 – 7.6 for water sanitizers of pool. This level should not be low or high from its limit. One can check the level by using drop test kit on a regular basis.19. Chlorine is the most commonly used water sanitizer for pool. An automatic chlorine feeder is best as compare to sticks or tablets. Mineral purification system and salt chlorinators are alternate water cleaning systems.20. The pumps and other machineries used in pool water treatment should also be checked and cleaned time to time for smooth functioning and proper water circulation in the pool.21. Water level must be maintained in the pool.22. The calcium hardness should be checked every six months.23. The leaves and other dry waste that come on the water due to nearby trees or strong winds should be removed daily and the poolside should be cleaned properly. The walls and bottom of the swimming pool should be cleaned using a brush or thick harsh cloth in order to prevent growth of algae and bacteria.24.
