It was established by Dr. Rajendra Prasad as the “Gandhi Smarak Nidhi” in order to spread the teachings and philosophies of Gandhi ji among the people especially the youth of country. This peaceful place provides you insights to Gandhiji’s life and his teachings.In Gandhi Bhavan you can see the Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, a picture gallery showcasing rare photographs of Mahatma Gandhi since his childhood till the end of his life. Apart from these there are copies of letters Gandhi ji has written in his lifetime. By exploring the Gandhi Bhavan you come to know who was Gandhi ji actually is, how he helped people to overcome their problems, how they inspired millions of people in the country to fight for the right but in a nonviolent manner, how he spent his childhood, etc. No doubt he was a great man and a treasure for our country. He was the great independence activist who chose a path of non violence at the time when violence was deeply rooted in the country.The Gandhi Bhavan in Bangaluru is the place where many programmes take place like meetings, seminars and several sessions based on Bapu all through the year.
