You must be wondering what sort of place is this. Let me tell it is one of the finest places in the world because it is the Eden Garden that all of you will admire by heart as your favourite game cricket is played here. Eden Garden is actually a huge but the finest cricket ground situated in Kolkata. It was established in the year 1864. The Eden Garden is situated at the b. B. D. Bagh area of Kolkata close to the State Secretariat and Kolkata High Court. It is said that the capacity of this stadium was 120,000 initially but today the actual capacity of this ground is 80,000 people. This spectacular ground has witnessed many historic matches between world’s top cricket teams. The current owner of this place is Indian Army but it is managed and operated by Cricket Association of Bengal. Among the tenants of this ground are Indian Cricket Team, Kolkata Cricket Team and Kolkata Knight Riders. The first Test Match was played here between India and England in the year 1934 from 5th January to 8th January. The last Test match was played in 2012 between India and England from 5th December to 9th December. The ground witnesses it’s First ODI between India and Shri Lanka on 18th February 1987 while the last ODI was played on 3rd January 2013 between India and Pakistan. You may not know that this ground is the largest cricket stadium in entire country and the third largest in the world in terms of seating capacity after Melbourne Cricket Ground and ANZ Stadium of Australia. Initially Cricket as well as Derby Matches were played here till 1984 but later on it has become a popular Cricket ground. No doubt it is the venue for IPL’s, Test crickets, One Day International Matches as well as Twenty 20 International matches. It is an idle cricket ground in the country and we must be proud to know the fact that it is recognised as Cricket’s answer to the Coliseum. This oldest Cricket ground has a glorious past and is named to honour the sister of Lord Auckland who was the Former Governor General. It is the biblical style Garden of Eden or God’s Garden in India. it has beautiful expanse of trees and shrubs around and a huge artificial lake too. You can see an impressive Pagoda adjacent to the lake. It was not built here but was brought in from Burma when Burmese were defeated by British soldiers in the year 1884. Walking on the banks of Hooghly River which is quite close to the Garden is a pleasant experience. The Pagoda here is a beautiful structure established first by a Burmese Lady named Ms. Mannikin in Prome city of Burma. It was created by an architect named Mong Hue and ten skilled carpenters in a period of three months with a cost of Rupees 1500 at that time. Inside the Pagoda situated the idol of Gandhasa with precious jewels on the head. The name of the Pagoda is Taza – Ung which is now enhancing the beauty of Eden Garden in Kolkata. The grandness off the spectacular ground will make you spell bound with several rows of benches in circular positions with the lush green well groomed carpet of grass in the centre gives you the pure pleasure to watch a Twenty-20 or IPL. The stadium is renovated in 2011 prior to Cricket World Cup-2011. Several new amenities are added and the existing ones are renovated in order to make the place suitable for being the venue for special events. It is really a cool experience to watch your favourite game in the world’s finest stadium with family, friends or special ones.RUCHI MAHAJAN займ на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн
