The construction was completed in 1977 with a plan of erecting 55 units but 39 were built. These cube houses are based on the notion of ‘living as an urban roof’. The houses attached to each other that depicts village within the city. They look like trees in the forest hence these wooden cubes are also known as tree or pole houses. Each of the house is divided in three floors and are accessed by narrow staircases. The ground level is dedicated for entrance, first floor consists of living room which is a triangular area and there is also an open kitchen on this floor. The mid-level consists of two bedrooms and a bathroom and the top floor is an open area used for garden or store room. To match the tilted design, even the windows and walls are sloped at 54.7 degree. You can have excellent view of the surrounding area from the windows. The only drawback of this design is that the apartments are constructed on total area of 100 sq mt but only quarter part of the space is usable due to the angled ceilings and structure. The asymmetrical design of the residences is also said to represent trees in the forest which look like yellow conventional trees in man-made forest. As the construction is innovative, even the residents are forced to be creative as they have to fetch for furniture and interiors that suits the design.
