New Delhi: Soon the citizens of Delhi will get their very own property tax passbook with all the relevant details. A problem with the previous system was that the tax payment receipts were easily being misplaced or lost. Now with the introduction of passbooks a better track of payments can be kept. A unique identification number will be allotted to the tax payers which will be included in the passbook as an account number. This initiative has been taken up by the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) in order to keep a thorough check over the property management systems.This proposal will soon be under implementation once it gets a nod from the concerned authorities. Issuing of passbook will facilitate proper recording of tax payments made by the payees.
