We all visit parks around us every day or weekly. Parks are one of the most essential part of our lives and no one can deny this fact. Parks give life to the surroundings that are filled with high rise buildings, vehicles, roads and bridges. They give us a space to breath but do we really understand the significance of parks in our lives. We should consciously think about it and must encourage the green patches in our surroundings. In today’s time parks are shrinked in the housing societies where we are limiting our kids to make friends outside our society. It is not appropriate and this trend should be discouraged so that we can have common parks which are good in size for our children as well as for elderly to enjoy their lives and become social. Thanks to God there is still one city that has many such parks spread all over the city. Bangaluru known as the garden city must be proud of its garden culture.Cariappa Memorial Park is one of the largest gardens in the city of Bangaluru. Spread over an area of twenty two (22) acres of land this park is located in the Heart of city on the M.G. Road in Bangaluru. Being a part of the parade grounds the Cariappa Memorial Park is named after the Field Marshall K. M. Cariappa who served in the Indian Armed Forces. You can see a seven feet tall statue of F. M. Cariappa at the entrance of the park. This park was established by the Indian Army in the year 1996. It is also maintained by the Indian Army.As this park is created by Indian army that is why you can see the clear influence of army in its design and landscaping. The games and kids play area in the park is based on the military themes. The positive of the theme is that it will help children to improve their physical as well as mental abilities along with lots of fun and excitement. There are actually six different sections in the park. The very inviting bandstand catches good crowd when six military bands perform here at every fortnight. The bandstand is surrounded by green lawns where viewers can sit and enjoy the performance comfortably. There are many more appealing things in the park like:WaterfallsTarzan swingBurma bridgeZigzag tunnelsSpider websSand pitsPondsBalance bars, etc.No doubt kids love these adventurous play instruments that can be challenging for small kids but excitement to play with them can never come down. This park has a really good well paved in cobble stone walk way to walk or jog of 1.8 kilometres long. Another speciality of this park is that it encourages eco friendly greenery as it has a rich collection of native as well as foreign species of flora and fauna and all this is maintained by the army without the use of any sort of insecticides. That is why this place assures you to have fresh and totally unpolluted clean air to breathe in. It is really wonderful to have such a nice place full of nature in the centre of a developed metro city. I must say it is more than perfect place to spend evening with family and friends.Things not allowed in the park
