Candolim Beach – Peaceful Serene Silvery Beach of North Goa

Goa is a magnificent place to relax, unwind and refresh through nature’s blast via serene beaches and lush greenery. Among the many beaches spread through the Arabian Sea coast line in the Northern Goa Candolim beach is spectacular as well as less noisy due to lack of commercial activities around. This beach provides you comparatively calm atmosphere than other beaches in the region but it does not mean that it is a less visited place by people. Actually it is one of the most visited beaches in North Goa due to its tranquil surroundings and peaceful atmosphere. It has become a favourite place for second time visitors, tourists as well as lovers. The distance of this beach from the capital city of Goa, Panjim is 15 kilometres that can be easily covered in half an hour using state transport, hire taxi or self vehicle. There are other beaches too nearby on the same line like Senquirm beach, Calangute beach, Baga beach, etc. But the quiet atmosphere of Candolim beach attracts visitors to this place instead of other beaches. An interesting fact about this beach is that it was the place where Fr. Abbe Faria who was the father of Hypnotism, was born.Apart from enjoying the peaceful sight of Candolim beach you can also visit the very popular historical sight of Fort Aguada that is quite near to the beach and worth visiting as it is a huge fort with an interesting history associated with Portuguese Rulers. It is almost four centuries old fort but still seems inviting to take you back into history. There is a popular place here known for its musical atmosphere with dining is Quincy corner where you can enjoy a variety of snacks sitting amidst palm and coconut groves while sea waves dance for you to synchronise the rhythm of music. Apart from relaxing, sunbathing, tasting delicious snacks you can also join the adventure ride in the water sports activities as there are a number of water fun activities provided here to tickle your thrill bones like parasailing, boating, water skiing, jet skiing, banana rides, bump rides, wind surfing, catamaran sailing, etc. if you are not done yet then indulge yourself in some shopping experience as you can shop for specific handicrafts, brass ware, sea shell ornaments & articles, terracotta, beach clothes, etc. a big stress buster and relaxation booster is the yoga and meditation sessions being offered by nearby hotels on the beach side is a not a bad idea.There are a variety of visitors you find on Candolim beach from tourists to monks, seers to researchers, youngsters to seniors, vacationers to honeymooners. The Candolim beach was the host for the fifth sunburn electronic music festival organised in December 2011. It attracts a crowd of thousands from across the globe. There are many languages are spoken here because the place is frequently visited by people from around the world. Marathi, English, Konkani and Hindi are some common languages here known to many people.  Though this place has consistent climatic conditions and a calm sea waves and thus gives opportunity to visit throughout the year but still the best time to visit Candolim beach is when the temperature is at its best and that is from November to February. It gets rains from June to October. There are few hotels available in Candolim area but you can stay at other places and can travel to Candolim beach which is in close vicinity to other beaches.This place is very well connected to nearby places like Mapusa by roads so reaching here is not at all a problem.
