The whole campus of the BMW headquarter was designed to represent four cylinders in a car engine providing overall cylindrical approach to the structure while the museum of the BMW was created to represent cylindrical head.
Architecture and DesignThe complete structure of the BMW headquarter was designed by the Austrian architect Karl Schwanzer who is well known for his outstanding designs and out of the box approach towards structural designs. The 101 meter façade of the structure is located near the Olympic Village and is often referred as the most exciting structures of the world due to its exceptional design and structure. The main building of the structure contains a large cathedral exterior with four vertical cylinders standing closely with each other with each cylinder divided horizontally in the centre. The interesting and unusual fact about the structure is that these four vertical cylinders are not standing on the ground, but they are suspended on a central support tower. The overall structure houses 22 occupied floors out of which 18 floors serve as office space for the company. While constructing the structure, individual floor were assembled on the ground and then they were elevated. The tower is spread over the diameter of 53.30 meters forming huge structure on the ground with exceptional façade of 101 meters.
The design of the structure was formed by a cloud like roof which spans over astounding interior space. The whole structure went through many changes during it construction, and the façade of the structure was designed as a modified post and beam system. Although the main tower resembles car cylinders, the BMW museum situated next to the administrative building highly resembles a cylindrical head and it was developed in 1972. The building is well known as salad bowl or white cauldron having roughly 20 meters’ circular base in diameter. The glass roof structure which has been constructed in the shape of the BMW logo on the tower’s central shaft creates unique aspects for the structure. The structure houses various other features such as thermally separated aluminum structure, special SHEV control panels connected to the building control system along with wind sensors to detect wind direction and speed. The whole structure of BMW headquarter certainly differentiates itself from all the common high-rises and mind blowing complexes of the city with its exceptional, eye-catching structure with miraculous touch of automotive resemblance. займ на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн
