Man has created several wonders in the world that became an example of super structure worth exploring by coming generation. These structures include historic monuments, pyramids, hanging gardens, tunnels under the mountains & under the sea, bridges etc. Coming generation gets inspiration to create such architectural master pieces. Though these structures are created to solve some problems or to make the lives easier but they become the landmarks. One such structure is Bandra Worli Sea Link which is created in order to shorten the distance between two areas of Mumbai city named Bandra of Western Suburbs of city and Worli situated in south Mumbai. Now you must be wondering why this bridge is special then let me give you a brief detail of the bridge architecture. This Bridge is a cable stayed bridge which has pre stressed concrete steel viaducts on both the sides. The task was not at all easy to create a bridge here for engineers as the foundation was quite uneven and the area came under tide zone. But as I said earlier man has created wonder so this challenging task was also accomplished and currently it is working perfectly alright. The Bandra Worli Sea Link which is also known as Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link is actually a part of proposed Western Freeway. It was built under the commission of Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation which is in short known as MSRDC. The total cost to build the sea link was Rs. 16 billion. The contract to build the bridge was given to Hindustan Construction Company. The architect of the bridge is Seshadri Srinivasan while the architecture firm Was Jacobs Engineering. The total length of the bridge is 5600 meters. The height of the bridge is 126 meters. It is an eight lane bridge. Out of its eight lanes the first four lanes were opened for public use on 30th June 2009 while the remaining four lanes were opened on 24th March 2010. Currently all eight lanes are working smoothly. Now let me tell you how this sea link has helped the citizens of Mumbai. It has reduced the travel time between two important areas Bandra and Worli from one and a half hours to just half an hour and less during the peak timings. Isn’t it lots of saving of time, energy as well as fuel? Every day on an average 37500 vehicles pass through this sea link and save their precious time. The bridge is also called BWSL in short. There is an electronic toll collection centre at the entrance of the bridge. The Bandra Worli sea link bridge gives the stunning views of Mumbai city and it definitely added an extra star to the island city of Mumbai. When illuminated in night the panoramic view of Sea Link is just unbelievable. If you talk about its safety then let me inform you that it is the first such project in the history of Mumbai that has used the Seismic Arresters that can handle an earth quake of intensity of up to 8.0 measures on Richter scale.RUCHI MAHAJANзайм на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн
