As the name suggest there is a law college situated on this road that gives it the name law college road. A large section of the law college campus lies on the right side of the road. It is one of the major roads of Pune that goes straight with residential locality. It starts at the intersection of the BMCC road- Senapati Bapat road junction that comes at opposite to the NCC parade ground and with slope it goes till Nal stop at Karve road that is one of the busiest junctions in Pune. The good thing about this road is both the sides of this road are having big grown up trees that make it more beautiful and green. On one side it is surrounded by Hanuman Tekdi while the other side is a residential area called Prabhat road.The law college is run by Indian Law Society and was farmed in the year 1924. At that time very few colleges were there in the country. ILS Law College is one of the best legal education centres in India. It has 240 seats for three years course of LLB while 400 seats for five years BA+LLB course. Students from across India come here after passing the entrance exam each year. Apart from LLB and LLM short term certificate course and diploma courses are also offered to improve research work on intellectual property rights, cyber laws, medical jurisprudence, etc.Another big landmark of this road is FTII that is Film and Television Institute of India which was founded in the year 1960 and counted as the premier institute for acting and film studies. FTII is internationally recognised institute for excellence in film studies and film making in Asia as well as in Europe. It is an autonomous body whose rules and regulations are formulated by the governing council of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of government of India. It has acquired the membership of CILECT that is one of the prestigious international associations of film schools. The institute stands on the premises of Prabhat studio. It has two film studio floors, 4 Nos 35 mm cameras, video cameras, HMI type of lights, state of the art sound studio, 2 television studios and graphics department.Apart from these two institutes there is a National Film archive of India (NFAI) located on this road.
