Panaji: Almost all the states across the country have digitized their land records and made them available online for the easy accessibility for citizens. The policy of digitizing all the land records was initiated by the central government and it has been implemented on a large scale across the country. The Goa state government had also initiated digitization of its land records and now it is all set with user friendly website www.dharnaksh.com to provide online land records to the citizens in Goa.The website for land records in Goa received a huge response from the citizens. The website was launched in June 2012 by directorate of settlement and land records of Goa state. The website provides easy access to view all the land records along with printing facility for land records on just few clicks of button, and it facilitates any user across the globe through Internet.The current analysis of the website suggests that it has received more than 50000 hits and has about 3500 registered users which took the copies of their land records through the payment gateway.
