Nashik: Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) is reserving 47 acres of residential land parcels at Tapovan for the Sadhugram. The land acquisition process for Sadhugram has been started as the NMC needs to acquire overall 325 acres land ensuring Kumbh Mela in 2015. The Nashik Municipal Corporation has requested for any objections or suggestions regarding this 47 acres land acquisition.The total land of 325 acres has been allotted for Sadhugram, out of which 54.09 acres of land has already been acquired by the NMC. Kumbh Mela is around the corner; hence NMC started acquisition of the land allotted for the Sadhugram. NMC had passed a resolution to acquire the land for the Sadhugram at the general body meeting.After the acquisition, the NMC issued a notification which invites objections and suggestion regarding the development plan from the citizens. The 47 acres land is separated for the purpose of Sadhugram development under the Maharashtra regional Town Planning Act, 1966. Citizens can file their suggestions and objections to the municipal commissioner within a month’s time, i.e. by September 28.The 47 acres which is earmarked for Sadhugram includes survey numbers 286, 287, 288, and 292 which comprises about 139 housing units. The houses coming under the radar of acquired land have been given the notices by the Town Planning Department of Nashik Municipal Corporation. The resident of these houses responded saying that they are not willing to vacate the land as they are living there since decades.The suggestions and objections received after the prescribed period will not be entertained.
