Bihar Land Records (Khata, Khasara)

bihar-mapThe Bihar state government with full swing is in process to digitize the land records all across the state under central government’s National Land Record Modernization Program (NLRMP).  Land records are now available for most of the districts in Bihar.Out of 38 districts, land records have been already digitized for Patna, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Kishanganj, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur, Bhojpur, Buxar, Rohtas, Katihar [8 Zone], Madhepura, Araria, Kaimur [3 Zone], Begusarai, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Vaishali, Lakhisarai, Jamui, West Champaran , Saran, Sheohar, Supaul, Sheikhpura, Nawada, Munger, Khagaria, Sitamarhi and Samastipur.The project which provides land records on the website has been created by the Bihar State Government in coordination with the National Informatics Centre (NIC) of Bihar.The main aim of the Bihar state government behind computerization of the land record is to reduce the time and money spent by the land owners to get the copies of their land records. The computerization of land records will increase the transparency between revenue and land reform department and the land owners residing in or away from Bihar.The online land records system will help people to get their land details anywhere in the country. Once land records of all districts are digitized it will help the revenue department to easily update and alter the records as and when the changes occur in the land transactions. The Bihar government has set up many data centers and record rooms in the districts which will store and update the land records from time to time.The process to get your land records online in Bihar is as follows

  • The Bihar government has made the searching land records much easier by using Bihar’s Map as the searching tool while selecting your Districts and Anchals
  • Online records are available on the Bihar’s official website http://lrc.bih.nic.in or you can also go through revenue and land records department’s website.
  • Once you select the option you will see the Bihar’s map on the page with districts on it.
  • Select/click on the district from which you want to see the land records. (Bihar government has only digitized nine districts till now and they are showed with a star on it)
  • Once you select the district it opens another map of that district.
  • Select the Anchal from the map as per your requirement
  • After selecting the Anchal it will show you the list of Mauja on the right side
  1. You can select required Mauja from the list
  2. To directly go to the Mauja you can type the first letter of the respective Mauja which will reduce the list.
  • To search your land records you will get different option, select one of the searching options.
  1. Search through all the Khatas from particular Mauja
  2. Look by the Khata Number
  3. Look by the Khata Owners name
  4. Look by Khasra Number
  • Once you select the option click on the search (Khata Khoje) button.
  • You can select the particular record to view the details of your Khata.
  • Once you have your land details you take the print out from the records.

The Bihar government has made the searching of land records much easier with as they have used Bihar’s map to select the districts and Anchals. Check your Khasra Khata details online by visiting lrc.bih.nic.in and follow the above process. Acquiring land records is quite effortless.
