Delhi may soon become the first state in India to initiate online property registration process, according to the Revenue Department of the government. As per the department, India hasn’t witnessed such facility till now.The online service would start for property registration, power of attorney and rent agreement. Revenue department has already kicked off with the trial run of the software.The project is expected to be launched within two to three months.Once this project gets started, there will be no need for the citizens to visit sub-registrar office or stand in long queue for registering property or acquiring rent agreement.According to the Divisional Commissioner, the software will be developed for the convenience of the people. With this new software, people can register their properties online by visiting the official website of the revenue department. Other documentation work like power of attorney, rent agreement can also be done online.Any person who is interested in buying property can visit the site, fill the form and submit all the necessary details as well as seller details. Property buyers will also be offered the facility to pay registration fees online. Buyers can pay the stamp duty either from home or office. Buyer can also take print of the sale deed for future reference.Buyers, who already have digitized signature, need not have to visit sub registrar office after the online process gets started.
