Pune: In order to reduce the escalating population and infrastructural load on Pune city, Maharashtra state government is thinking to construct a new city outside this city limits.The chief minister recently attended a meeting with the stakeholders to discuss about the infrastructural development and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority in Pune Metropolitan region.According to the builders in the meeting, urbanization is quick and the suburbs are developing in rapid speed. The state government is expected to come up with good policy to build a well-planned city outside the city limits of Pune.The chief minister further said that, the PMRDA has already been developed late hence the state government is aiming to give instant approval to PMRDA to avoid disorganized development Pune metropolitan regions. However the development could have been better if PMRDA was developed some 15 years back.Pune can get funds for infrastructural development from Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT). Apart from the plans of the new city, the state government is also mulling to come up with Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) – a high speed rail system to make travelling easy and convenient for the people living in metropolitan, non-metropolitan and suburb regions.The central government has created a financial plan that is predicted to comprise of fund contribution from state and union governments, loans from multilateral organizations and contribution from private sectors.
