UPHDB Planning to Construct Affordable Homes in the State

affordable-housing-projectDelhi/NCR – The Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Board (UPHDB) is planning to come up with over 10,000 low-cost housing units with a price range of Rs. 15 to 30 lakhs in cities like Ghaziabad, Meerut and Lucknow.With this respect, UPHDB had launched an initiative scheme, Samajwadi Awas Yojna (SAY). Under this scheme, the government will be constructing affordable housing units for lower income groups and middle income groups. The registration for these properties would begin from April first week while the construction process would start from this year itself.According to the official, more than 9,000 affordable homes will be launched in Lucknow with an EMI of over two years span.The plan was actually decided to get executed from January itself however due to high land rates, it was impossible to build the homes within price range of Rs. 15 to 30 lakhs. This is why the government eventually decided to start the affordable housing project from the March-end.According to the general rule, the builder needs to pay 1.5 amount of the land cost to construct group housing project, while under this scheme, the builder will be liable to pay only the land rate.UPHDB will be coming up with low-cost housing projects in Lucknow under Avadh Vihar Yojna in Sultanpur area, on Rao Bareli Road, the government will come up with Vrindavan Yojna and on Hardoi Road, Amrapali Yojna.
