PCNTDA Planning to Set up Affordable Housing Project in Walhekarwadi

pcntdaPune: The Pimpri Chinchwad New Township Development Authority (PCNTDA) is planning to launch around 792 low-priced affordable housing projects in one of the locations in Chinchwad, Walhekarwadi.The PCNTDA President had a discussion after budget draft for 2015-16 was handed over to him by the chief executive officer. However, this residential project has got postponed by two years; the project was initially proposed in the draft budget for the period 2013-14. At that, the authority has anticipated to build 1,164 low cost residences on plot area of 4.5 hectare in the same location. Flats will be constructed in two sizes 280 sq ft and 390 sq ft. As per the current proposal, the number of flats to be constructed is decreased to 792.According to the President of PCNTDA, they are still to get environmental clearance to start the construction process. The clearance process is going on while two meetings with the environmental department have already been conducted with respect to clearance. Some of the queries have been resolved.PCNTDA is planning to construct this affordable housing project in two phases. As per the norms, the authority has given approval for constructing 150 residential units per hectare, while they are intending to construct 250 houses.
