EWS Residential Owners Receives Notices for the 2nd Time

ewsDelhi/NCR: Around 17 owners of EWS (Economically Weaker Section) housing in Sector 54 has received notices for the second time for unauthorized construction. The District Town Planner (DTP) – Encroachment has sent the notice which is declared under the Sub Section (2) of Section 10 of the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975.The notice affirms that any addition or modification made to the EWS residences located at ground, first or second floor is a non-compoundable breach as the owners have not received any approval from the associated authority.DTP (encroachment) has issued second notice as these 17 owners have already received the notices in October. As per the district town planner, the notice has been sent for the second time because the issue was raised again by few of the citizens and print media.With respect to action against the violators, the district town planner said that if these owners fail to do up with the approval within a week time then an FIR will be registered against them and the illegal alterations and additions will be sealed. The police station linked with this area has already been informed about the illegal act.According to the law, EWS is permitted to build, up to two and half floor buildings. However 90% of the buildings in Sector 54 comprise of 3 to 4 floors.
