Pune: No building will acquire completion certificate without getting NOC from PMC Garden Dept. Pune Municipal Corporation has recently declared that No Objection Certificate from the Garden department is compulsory for constructing any type of residential property under PMC limits. If any property fails to acquire NOC, the property will be declared as illegal.The Chief Garden Superintendent of PMC made clear that the move will immediately come into effect for the properties that are still to get Completion Certificate. Here onwards, no certificate will be issued without their permission. He further said that they will make sure about the plantation and re-plantation of trees that have been cut in specific site.Cutting trees for construction process is illegal. Developers or owners who are caught cutting will have to replant three times more trees. PMC has initiated this drive, in order to prevent and grow tree plantation in urban zones.The NOC was not included in the provision before for speeding up the approval process but from now it will be mandatory to obtain NOC for getting Completion Certificate.The developer or owner of the property has to first apply for NOC from the PMC. After this, a team will survey the respective site and check for the number of trees. The department will verify that there is no illegal cutting down of trees. The new regulation is applicable for residential properties, gated communities and independent homes that are still to attain Completion Certificate.In case, there is not enough green cover around the property, the Garden Department will ensure that proper plantation is done.
