Inspections Fail to Curb Down Unauthorized Constructions in Delhi

illegal buildingDelhi/NCR:  Despite of the “Inspector Raj System”, illegal construction doesn’t seem to decrease in the national capital, Delhi, recently said the South Delhi Municipal Corporation to Delhi High Court. According to the commissioner of South Corporation, alteration has to be made in the fine and penalty system for the unauthorized constructions as it is ineffective and in fact works in favor of the offenders.There are about 1.5 to 2 lakh illegal buildings in the city. The commissioner further said that the government policy has been established to stop the misconduct taking place in real estate sector but the plan has failed as officials only seal or demolish the site place and take an exit, later the owners again start with construction process.Inspector Raj System does not affect much to the economic status of the offenders as before. The corporation commissioner said to the High Court that they are very serious about eliminating the nuisance of illegal construction and will take all necessary measures to stop the construction process.The court suggested that immediate actions will be taken against the unauthorized constructions. The commissioners would organize a meeting with government officials, Delhi police commissioner, DJB and DERC authority to discover techniques to examine the illegal structures.
