A high level committee managed by the Chief Minister clears investment plan for above Rs. 50 crore and project proposal below that amount are permitted by single-window board that is led by the chief secretary.Major alterations have been made through a revision to Section 109 of the Karnataka Land Reforms Act, 1962. The relief on the land conversion is offered to educational institutions, residential projects, horticulture (green-house) projects and for constructing place of worship. However, investors who fail to complete their industrial project within the given deadline would have to hand over their land to the government.According to the chief secretary, this is the most important element of new industrial policy made by the government. He further said that, lot of corruption took place at the lower level which delayed the land conversion process.Corporate embraces this new amendment. The current alteration will benefit the farmers by allowing them to sell their land directly to the highest bidders.
