DDA Housing Scheme 2014 to be Initiated from 1st September

housing schemeThe much anticipated Housing Scheme 2014 of Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is all set to be launched. The earlier proposed plan to reserve 80% of the flats for city-dwellers has been dismissed and now this housing scheme will be offering 25,000 flats for different housing categories.The new housing policy will offer flats priced around Rs. 7 lakh to Rs. 1.2 crore for Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Mid-Income Group (MIG), High Income Group (HIG), 1 room apartments and Janta flats.The Vice-Chairman of DDA said that in this year’s housing scheme, they will be providing 25,034 flats out of which 22,627 will be one-bedroom flats.The scheme will be released for the applicants from September 1, 2014 and the last day for submission of the application is October 9. According to the senior DDA official, the draw will be removed within 20 days before the scheme closes. He also added that people could apply for the housing policy online.The registration fee for EWS is Rs. 10,000 whereas for all other categories it is Rs. 1 lakh. The annual income should be maximum Rs. 1 lakh of those who apply for EWS category.The officials further said that the development authority for the first time had introduced the 80-20 quota; however the plan to offer 80% of flats to the city-dwellers has been scrapped.The one-bedroom dwelling units are located in Rohini, Dwarka, Siraspur and Narela and costs above Rs. 14 lakh as per the location.
