Pune: There was a printing mistake in the draft development plan of the old localities in Pune which lowers the Floor Space Index (FSI) in the prime Peth areas. A proposal has been sent to the general body to rectify the errors.Pune Municipal Corporation’s chosen members will correct the error which allocated lower FSI to Pune citizens. This year in May, the City Improvement Committee (CIC) gave permission to come up with more constructions in Peth areas. It gave its approval for a proposal which requested to increase the FSI. A final approval from the civic body side is still waiting.According to the proposal kept before the General Body, the civic administration agreed that there is printing error in the draft development plan for the old areas of the city. The FSI for the residential structures have become 1 while for the commercial constructions, the FSI has become 0.5. The proposal also confirmed that after rectification the FSI for residential constructions will become 1.5 and for commercial it will be 1.The increased FSI will allow the citizens of Peth areas who have 1000 sq ft land area to build residential property up to 1,500 sq ft and commercial property up to 1,000 sq ft. The civic body has spotted 18,000 properties in Peth areas like Budhwar, Shaniwar, Kasba, Bhavani, Nana, Narayan and Ganj.
