Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has geared up to accelerate its plan of linking Greater Noida to Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport with a 66 km route through high-speed metro connection. The feasibility report for the project has already been completed, only final touches have to be given to project’s detailed report.GNIDA officials in a recent meeting which was conducted for concluding the feasibility report said that Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is actively working on the report which will be finished sooner.Once the project gets accomplished, the dwellers of Greater Noida and Noida will conveniently reach IGI airport within 50 minutes even during heavy traffic. According to the sources, the metro link will be likely running at a speed of 160 km per hour. This Metro link will be covering a distance of 66 kms with just 5 to 6 metro stations on its way. The stations are expected to be located on IGI Airport, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Pari Chowk and Bodaki.The sources further added that the projected high-speed metro link is likely to run parallel to Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) and connect the planned Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad path. In Kondli village which is 5 km from Pari Chowk, a bridge will be built on the Yamuna River. The Metro then will be linked to Gurgaon, Delhi and Badrapur Metro.
