Property Owners can Acquire ‘A’ Khata by Paying Betterment Charges in Bangalore

BBMPProperty owners of Bangalore will now have good times as Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will soon be providing ‘A’ khata by collecting the betterment fees. ‘A’ khata will be provided for the regularization of the properties. This service was permitted by the mayor, currently at a council meeting.After paying the specific fees amount, the owners of the deputy commissioner- converted properties can be eligible to attain ‘A’ khata. The municipal corporation will be collecting Rs. 200 per sq mt as betterment cost from its 100 old wards and Rs. 250 per sq mt will be collected for the 98 wards, left in New Bangalore.  Presently these owners only possess ‘B’ Khata which means they are not allowed for bank loans or loans from any financial institution, building license or trade license. And these plots didn’t have any approvals from civic bodies like Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) or other such planning agencies.  BBMP will be increasing the betterment charges by 10% each year. According to a senior official, the Commissioner will prepare a detailed circular on this facility.The councilor of Kacharakanahalli ward and other such ward councilors requested the mayor to offer ‘A’ Khata by payment of betterment fees to the revenue sites. They suspected that the revenue officers of BBMP was taking bribe and was illegally providing the Khata to the revenue owners.
