One of the high-flying real estate and infrastructure firms of our country, Ansal Properties and Infrastructure (API) is planning to instigate an IT SEZ (Special Economic Zone) which would be spread over 75 acre of land in Greater Noida. The company will be investing over Rs. 130 crore to develop this commercial project.In 2006, the IT SEZ was verified by the Commerce Ministry but due to the sluggish economic condition, the development process by the company became very slow. However the company decided to increase its speed to develop this project due to the construction of Yamuna Expressway and NIIT launching its captive units near SEZ.According to the API advisor (SEZ), in 2012, Ansal Properties had tied up with Earth Infrastructure to develop this project. The company has spent over Rs. 130 crore for the land purchase, construction and physical infrastructure of 2 lakh sq ft area. He further added that two units in SEZ have already started functioning. This real estate company is hoping that the total 2 lakh sq ft area would be leased and around 10 units will start with is operation in this present financial year. By 2016-17, the company will be developing an entire built- up area of 10 lakh sq ft.This joint venture project will set aside 65% of the SEZ area as processing zone and remaining 35% for non-processing zone. The API advisor also said that this is the only and exclusive SEZ project in Delhi-NCR which will be offering elite IT/ITES plots.
