There is good news for all the flat buyers in Mumbai as they will soon be benefited with the online process where they can view all the details related to flat plans and their approvals given by the civic body. The citizens can make a verified decision regarding the flat purchase. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will be coming up with this process to make the civic body, citizen friendly.According to the head of the technical advisory committee, by the end of this month the building plans which got all the necessary approvals since June, 2013 will be uploaded on the official website of the civic body. The committee was formed, last May to assist the BMC execute Right to Information (RTI) Act. The official further said that the best method to achieve this goal is by uploading all the necessary information regarding the flat approvals and plans on a public platform which will be convenient for the citizens as well as officials.A similar kind of project was launched in the year 2009 in the eastern suburbs but the project soon got smashed. Last year lakhs of RTI petitions were filed across Maharashtra, out of which 30% alone was related to the building plan division of Mumbai.Technical advisory committee head further said that he is making an effort to make sure that even the past building plans and approvals are uploaded on the website. Complaints regarding the illegal constructions will also be put online for the convenience of the citizens.
