IIA Submitted 14 Metro Station Designs for Approval

kochi-metroKochi: The Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) has submitted the designs for 14 stations for the Metro project in Kochi. The designs sketched by the IIA were further submitted to Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). Indian Institute of Architects has been allotted a task to design 14 metro stations for the Kochi Metro rail project.The design submitted by IIA would reflect the social-cultural aspects of the city, and will be major aspect of the infrastructure development as well as real estate growth of the city. IIA has been routed to design all the 22 metro station but it has designed about 14 stations by now, and it has already presented the designs in front of KMRL.The IIA stated that they will submit the entire design to the authorities after getting suggestions from the Metro agency, the final designs will include sketches and drawings and it will be completed in couple of months.The IIA team is sketching the designs of the roof and interior of these stations, these designs will be approved by the special committee comprising representatives of KMRL, DMRC. The designs of the metro stations are created by the design engineers of the IIA which were split into five teams and each team was assigned three stations for designing.Each metro station will have unique design theme and design attributes, Kochi station has been designed in the form of waves.
