Delhi: Once the final approval from authorities is received, the much awaited extension of Metro line to greater Noida will immediately start. Along with the extension of metro line to greater Noida, work on the new Metro link to Kalindi Kunj and Greater Noida West popularly known as Noida Extensions will also see boom.The extension of the Metro link to new areas will certainly boost the connectivity by reducing the travel time to Delhi. Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) chairman and CEO, Rama Raman said that the work on Metro extensions will bring rapid development growth for Grater Noida. It will work as a foundation stone for the future developments in the new areas of NCR.Noida Authority has 70 per cent stake in the Metro project which GNIDA shares 30 per cent stake. Noida authority has already approve a budget of Rs 1000 crore for the 29 Kilometer long Metro link. The total estimated cost for the Metro link is Rs 5000 crore and the whole [project will be up and running in the next three years.Authorities associated with the project have already started raising fund for the projects, Noida and Greater Noida Authorities will raise 50 per cent of the total fund whereas remaining 50 per cent will be shared by the central government.A review meeting held for the metro project gave a final nod to the proposal to extend metro line to sector 62 which will go through NH-24.
