Mumbai prevalent as an affluent city in India has been positioned on 28th spot in the list of costliest locations for rental accommodation in the world. Last year the city was positioned at 17th spot in the list of most expensive cities for elite 3 bedroom rental apartments, now it’s slipped to 28th position.The list has been presented by the renowned HR consultant, ECA International. According to the report, the fall in the rupee value is one of the main reasons for the drop. As far as India is concerned, Mumbai tops the list of costliest locations for high-end, 3 bedroom rental accommodation and while it ranks 7th in Asia.Hong Kong retained its position of being costliest rental location in the world followed by Moscow at 2nd position, Caracas at 3rd, New York at 4th and London at 5th.The listing presented by ECA is based on the information gathered from the reports which provide complete details for the locations all over the world for rental tendency, accommodation type and regions that normally expatriates look for.Even though the rental values in Mumbai were stable, the fall in the rupee value led to the drop in rental apartment price by almost 15% in comparison to US Dollars. New Delhi has slipped to 43rd position from 29th position while according to the survey rental rates of Bangalore are among few of the lowest.
