The government of India has approved four new JnNURM projects for the Gujarat, all these projects will be developed under the JnNURM scheme. Approvals to these projects were given at a meeting held at Delhi, the meeting was held by Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) under the Urban Infrastructure Governance (UIG).The approved projects include water recycling and reuse project for Ahmedabad city near Bhavans College. The total approved cost of the project is estimated at Rs 9151.19 crore which will be funded by central government with a share of 35 per cent i.e. Rs 3202.92 crore and the project will be completed in 24 months. The second project for water recycling and reuse will be situated at Old Pirana with estimated total cost of Rs 5875.87 crore where central government will bear 35 per cent of the totat estimated value.Another Water recycling project will be developed at Jal Vihar with an estimated total cost of Rs 3696.29 crore with central government’s share of Rs 1056.83 crore. All the water recycling and reuse projects will be developed in the period of 24 months which will definitely help improve the locality in the city.Proper guidelines to set up- these three projects for Gujarat have been given by the central government.The fourth project which has been approved by the central government is water supply system for west and south west zone of Surat Municipal Corporation.
