According to a report presented by the globally recognized property consultant, Cushman & Wakefield (C &W), last year Connaught Place of Delhi was ranked as the 4th Costliest office locality in the world but this year the location has come down 4 levels and is now positioned at number 8.C&W prepared a report that showed rankings of office locations around America, Asia-pacific, Europe, Africa and Middle East. London’s West End still retains its first spot in this year’s ranking and is followed by office location in Hong Kong.Out of the top 10 office markets, London and New York are the only locations which saw increase in the rental values while other markets mostly saw a fall in rental values as compared to last year. New Delhi and Moscow did not record any change in rental values.As per the property consultant, the appreciation in the US Dollar as well as Euro against the Rupee value is the main reason for the shift of New Delhi’s office ranking with respect to global occupancy rates when measured on the basis of dollar and euro value.The commercial activities taking place in Connaught Place is also limited due to which it has witnessed steady rentals of Rs. 414 per sq ft per month. It is predicted that the rentals will continue to remain stable. This location still remains to be a hotspot for BFSI, media and consulting sectors.
